I have an old (crappy, not worth giving away) kids bike that I hate to throw out, what are some creative ideas?
Anyone have any creative ideas on what to turn this old bike into? I hate to throw it and it would be mean to give it to someone because it’s in that bad of shape, but I thought it would make a good… something. It still has most of the the basic parts, but no seat, the pedals are hard to turn and broken, and the tires are flat. What cool uses can there be? Ideas?
Here in kansas we can donate our old bikes to one of the prisons. The inmates use them for spare parts or fix them up for the children in need of them. I also know a guy that will take them, fix them up and give them to kids in his town. Just an idea.

KaZAM Run Bike Green $99.99 Kids ride with balance on the Kazam Run Bike . The original Kazam impressed both parents and kids with its innovative footplate. The second generation model, introduced in 2009, makes improvements to the design with smooth tire treads, chrome handlebars, multi-spoke rims, a steel headset, and a quick-release seat. Built pedal free and low to the ground, the Kazam metal balance bike allows kids to propel forward using their feet. As kids gain confidence, they lift both feet off the ground and onto the unique foot rest, developing essential balance skills. The footrest eliminates the awkwardness of where to put feet when gliding and cruising. The air-filled 12″ tires with a smooth tread remain stable as your child learns to balance while steel axles add durability. The multi-spoke rims give the bike more of a traditional bike feel and add support for the wheel. The easy-to-grip chrome handlebars and steel headset (the bearing set that allows the bike to turn) let them learn how to steer. Mom and dad like the quick-release seat, which makes adjusting the seat height easy-as-pie. Getting going with the Kazam Run Bike requires a small wrench for assembly and a flat surface for takeoff. Always be sure kids wear helmets! Comparison: The Strider Sports Running Bike looks just like a mountain bike – perfect for your future extreme rider. Plastic axles and a plastic headset reduce weight for easy steering by little ones. Looking for a traditional wooden balance bike? The Skuut Wood Balance Bike features classic styling and a great price. Neither the Strider Sports Running Bike nor the Skuut Wood Balance bike feature the Kazam’s innovative footplate. |

Strider Running Bike – Pink $99 The Strider Running Bike is a truly fun and exciting way for kids to develop essential motor skills at a young age. If your child can walk, your child can ride this bike. Designed for children ages as young as 18 months up to 5 years old, this bike teaches your child balance, coordination and confidence. Trikes and bikes with training wheels don’t.  While traditional bicycles place too much focus on learning to pedal — skimping on developing your child’s motor skills, the Strider teaches balance and coordination before pedaling. Kids quickly learn to sit down, push with their feet and zip right along as they balance on two wheels. Traditional bikes and tricycles tend to be heavy, clunky and difficult for kids to pedal and control.  The Strider gives your child a safer way to learn bike riding because it’s free from any cables, chains, sprockets, pedals or protrusions that can harm your child. Its lightweight design and low center of gravity make it easy to maneuver and control, giving your child a safe and secure feeling.  The bike’s adjustable seat height starts at 11 inches from the ground, accommodating the shortest of legs. Control is further enhanced with a low and flat handlebar design.  Kids can now reach forward rather than up, which gives them better leverage and maneuverability.  And as the your child becomes more confident, the Strider’s integrated foot rests provide a place for both feet while coasting along. Give your child growth and development a jump start with the Strider Running Bike! Features: The Strider Running Bike offers a safe, speedy and smooth transition into a two-wheel pedal bike Lightweight design and low center of gravity make it easy to maneuver and control, giving your child a safe and secure feeling Durable, low-maintenance design Durable welded steel frame and handlebars Puncture-proof all-terrain tires with sealed bearings and 5/16" steel axles Specifications: Adjustable handlebar and seat height to fit riders from 30" to 44" tall (saddle height adjusts from 11" to 16" from ground) Rider weight limit of 50 pounds Weighs only 6.9 lbs. 1 year warranty against manufacturing defects Unique frame design has integrated footrests for gliding Gift Wrap not available.
