
Which burns more calories–riding a bike 2 miles, or walking 2 miles?
Riding my bike to class (just over 1 mile each way) is more strenuous than walking. But it takes me less than 10 minutes.
And even though walking is less strenuous than biking, when I do walk to class I am actively moving for closer to 20 minutes each way.
Which option burns more calories (biking or walking)?
Riding your bike will require a higher heart rate than walking & therefore burn more calories even though you spend longer walking as walking hardly raises your heart rate compared to cycling.
